  1. What are your rates?(Top)

Our rates range between $1200 and $4000 (depending on which DJ you want to book, the date, day of week, distance, etc).

Week day (mon-thurs) and winter rates are lower. Please feel free to contact us for a quote.

  2. Do you require a deposit, will our date still be available next week?(Top)

To make a long story short, if you contact us and then decide to proceed with booking us a few days (or weeks) (or hours) later—there’s probably a good chance the date will still be available, but it is also possible that someone else put down a deposit and that the date is no longer available.  Like virtually all other DJ and event services companies, bookings are taken on a first come first served basis.

to clarify:  We require a 50% deposit to secure the booking.

  3. Why Should I choose Beat Train Productions for my event?(Top)

Beat Train Productions is a highly regarded business that puts its focus in our customers and always strives to exceed expectations. We’re a small DJ company that focuses on quality over quantity. When you hire us, you can be confident that you are dealing with an ultra reliable and experienced DJ, with a proven track record.

  4. Are you insured?(Top)

Yes, Beat Train Productions has full liability insurance.

  5. What kind of equipment do you have?(Top)

We use high quality professional audio equipment, including JBL and Mackie powered speakers, Shure wireless microphone systems, Technics Turntables, and we always bring back up equipment (including back up speakers, microphones, and computer systems). Additionally we offer a variety of lighting options-you can read more about our lighting services here

    .

  6. What do you wear to gigs?(Top)

We dress professionally, in dark color suits. We do not wear tuxedos or sparkly vests (I apologize for any inconvenience that might cause).

  7. Are you able to emcee our event?(Top)

We are all articulate as emcees, but we prefer to keep our talking to a minimum and err on the side of subtlety–we are happy to make any announcements/introductions that you request us to make—but if you are looking for an interactive emcee to play games and teach line dances—I’m afraid we would not be the best DJ company for your event.

  8. Do you take requests?(Top)

Of course. When you hire us, we’ll gladly work with you prior to the gig to establish what songs and genres, if any, you’d like to request and what songs and genres you’d like put on a “no-play list”.

Most of our clients trust us to use our discretion, exercise good taste, and to do a good job reading the crowd-and will give us a limited number of requests—but that is up to you!

  9. What music genres do you play?(Top)

We tend to be quite versatile, and we’re able to accommodate a wide range of genres from big band jazz to motown to alternative and indie to hip hop to modern top 40 (etc etc etc).

However…If you are looking for line dance songs (like the macarena, for instance)- unfortunately I don’t believe we would be a good match for you. If you are searching for a (contemporary) country music DJ, I would be honest, that none of us have any knowledge of this genre.

  10. What if my DJ can't make the event due to sickness?(Top)

All of our DJ’s are in excellent health. We eat healthy and exercise regularly. If a severe emergency came up, we would be sure to find a suitable replacement. If this unlikely scenario happened, and you were not satisfied with the replacement DJ, we would offer to refund your money.  Its extremely important to us that you don’t end up with a surprise DJ.

  11. How can I contact Beat Train Productions?(Top)

First off, thank you for taking the time to read the FAQ’s–it is much appreciated :-)   Hopefully you’ve had a chance to read all of the questions, but at a minimum, please make sure to read our deposit policy before contacting us (second question from the top).

If you are a prospective client, please CLICK HERE to schedule a brief phone conversation.  We use Genbook.com to schedule initial consultations, which prevents email/phone tag, and helps streamline the communication process.  Once we’ve connected over the phone, I’d be happy to provide a price quote, discuss your needs, recommend a DJ, and/or facilitate a conversation or meeting with a DJ.

Alternately, please feel free to contact me via phone or email (listed below).
